LOOK. A CHICKEN. YUM YUM.

I finally downloaded the PSE I got with my new tablet (warning, this seemed to became a cheap review...) Funny thing is, the package says it should be PSE 9 and last summer it was PSE 10 on the download page but apparently Adobe or Wacom is fair enough to provide always the newest version of it at least for the first download and I got PSE 11 instead. Not that I'd complain, though I can only wonder if the 10 would actually been better... PSE 11 isn't actually the most handy program for a 14 inch screen since the program wants to fill the screen with different menus (you can't even add the navigator screen to any other menu so it kinda like keeps getting on the way...). Though if you can work without using the menus all the time, there's plenty of room for the canvas (though, also, everytime you change the tool you're using the program opens up the Tool properties menu and you'll have to close it yourself...)

So yeah, I was just testing out my new toy. You maybe will hear more about the chicken later if I'm ever hard-working enough to introduce him properly. (And yes, he's not really a chicken)

Photoshop Elements had the most absurd menu layout. You used to be able to tell which computers I'd recently used in the library at school, because on its Photoshop Elements I would have pulled off all the pallete menus from the tabbed section in a fit of OCD and arranged them exactly like full Photoshop.

Do you remember which version of the PSE you had at your school? I tried to find out if rearranging the menus was possible with PSE 11 but at least this far I haven't managed to do that. Stubborn little menus, they are...

Unfortunately it looked like Elements CS1, which happened quite a while ago. I remember seeing my teacher in the next school a few years later wrestle with Elements CS3 and it didn't at all fit well on the tiny CRT monitor.

Oh, damn... Well, I apparently have got to try to get along with those menus in that program, since I quite doubt the developers would have made it possible to arrange them in those most simple PSs they have... :B

I'm assuming we're talking about the same menu panel thingies. What is it exactly want to do with them? If you just want to order them on the side into the panels you actually use and get rid of the ones you never touch, I'm SURE that's possible somehow. Or else there wouldn't be a Edit/Preferences/General/Save Panel Locations.

However, if you've already managed to find your favourite panels and were just talking about some super compact mode like this, I'm afraid I can't see a button like that on pse panels.

Well... It's hard to tell what I exactly mean since the menus differ quite a lot between PSE 11 and any CS' versions... Argh, just forget about it, it's too hard for me to try to explain what the menus look like in the PSE 11 but at least I can say that they are not editable in the same way like in some (if not all) CS versions. There's not even a Save Panel Locations -option in that whole program, so I guess there is just no way to edit them... Thanks for trying to help, though :)

Buut... the option I was talking about was explicitly referring to your program, Photoshop Elements 11. According to official Adobe help forum. So it does exist somewhere, even if it's really hidden.

Try and look this over and see if that's what you want, otherwise we're probably out of luck.

Ah... that article. Wait, what... Okay, I'm going to cry soon. With that article it seems like it actually could be possible to arrange the panel menu somewhat like I'd see the most useful option (and maybe even add the navigator and the layers on the same panel) BUT my panel menu doesn't look like the same than the one on that page :| Or basically it does, but I don't have those separate little shortcuts on top of the menu for Layers, Effects, Graphics and Favourites. And seemingly those 'shortcut' tabs should be the ones from where to drag one of them on a separate menu... Also one thing what bothers me is that taskbar. Most of the time while working I wouldn't even need it, but you can't hide it from the screen. It just stays there and eats space.

Well, I've just got to see if I can get that panel menu to look like what it is in that picture. If I just could add the navigator and the layers on the same menu my life would be a bit easier even if I'll just have to live with the taskbar xD

Thank you! ^^

And I got it already last summer, but it's a Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen & Touch anyway ;) Nice little thing except that it eats the pen nibs so quickly...
