AT: Soul of Fire

My overdue trade part for the awesome I had lots of troubles picking the character I would draw out of her OC's as she has a cool bunch of them But in the end I decided to go on with Phoenix (summoning the firebird)

Wolf herself finished her part already a year ago. I made the first sketches for my trade around those times too but I never really were happy with them. I thought about having a little pause and trying again then but I still wasn't able to draw anything decent. And soon after that I had to start working on my graduation work.
I drew the sketch for this either in the end of last year or in the beginning of this year. I totally failed Phoenix's hind legs then and thought that I wouldn't finish this either. Lately I tried to draw something new but I think those sketches were even more horrible than the ones I drew last year. So instead I tried to fix the anatomy fails on this one. Phoenix's hind legs still look quite awkward but at least a lot better than what they were.

I feel usually quite uncertain about trying new working methods on trade works and the same goes with this one with the shadings. I'm not too sure if it shows in this picture too clearly but I did the shadings by quite randomly erasing the lighter parts out of the shadings in order to get a bit of a 'texture' on Phoenix's fur and feathers. It probably works more well with the fur than on the wings...

Okay, enough talking. I really hope this was even somewhat worth of your long wait, Wolf! ^^'
